Notes on accommodation
|
Linen/towels & cleaning of the Villa
|
|
All bed linen
and towels are provided (normally one bath towel and one
hand towel per person), but you will need to bring your own
beach towels. A weekly change of linen will be provided & if
you prefer we could leave the fresh linen with you,
We will also
need to service the swimming pool & Gardens; this may be
more than once during your stay in order to water garden
plants & maintain pool hygiene, (however you will be
informed of this if needed).
We will never arrive at the Villa unannounced or without
notifying you first. We aim to provide both services on the
same day and at the same time and will arrange with you when
it is convenient; our time spent at the Villa is kept to a
minimum (usually less than 1hr) we want to respect your
privacy during your stay at the Villa. We can either service
the Villa when you are out or while you are at the villa
which ever you prefer, this will be carried out by (us the
owners only) who will be here to greet you with the keys to
Villa Amarilla on your arrival! |
|
Suitability |
|
The villa may not be suitable for the very elderly/infirm as
there are several stairs around the property (stairs are
gated at the bottom & can be locked), if bringing young
children, parental supervision is always recommended e.g.
when there is a pool, stairs or walled area etc. We do have
several prickly plants around the gardens and if touched can
cause skin irritation, so again if you have children
supervision is recommended. (See terms & Conditions) |
|

|
|
Swimming Pool |
|
The pool here at the Villa is not heated but can be used
from April to the end of October The size of the pool is 10m
x 5m approx and has inset lighting for those warm evenings
when you can’t resist taking a dip (It’s like bath water
between July & September). The depths of the pool are
painted on large stones which are located by the poolside.
The shallow end is (1.2 m deep approx) with walk in steps
and the deepest end is (1.9m deep approx) with metal steps.
We always advise that no child of any age is ever left
unattended, without adult supervision at any time by the
pool area.
We have safety information at
the Villa |

|
Garden areas |
|
The drive is privately gated and has been landscaped to give
a Mediterranean look and feel we’ve planted it with palms,
lavender, grape vines, and lots more. In the gardens below
we have 2 Lemon trees, a few Almond trees, Manderine, Grape
vines, Aloe Vera, different varieties of Cactus, lots of
sweet Honeysuckles, Jasmine, Bougainvillea, lots of ground
covering plants & lavender.
We have 3 large shaded terraces one of which is the gazebo
area with fantastic panoramic views and are linked to the
newly built BQ area!
We also have Spanish Chino stoned areas & white washed walls
that have rustic Mediterranean pots inserted with lovely
flowers over hanging leading under the bridged walkway
entrance to the villa. Both areas lead to the barbecue area
where we are sure you are to spend a few nights of your
holiday barbecuing some marinated fresh Meats & Fish with a
chilled glass of wine.
The Spanish supermarkets sell fantastic Meat, Chicken,
Beefsteaks, and Racks of ribs and a lot more, fantastic on
the barbecue. You can buy charcoal from the local
supermarket in Comares. The fish here is very good
especially the prawns you can buy 1 kilo of tiger prawns
feeds 4-5 people for as little as 6 Euros (just under £4)
you can ask to have it cleaned for you.
Located in Torre del Mar is an English run shop named
EASTENDERS, they sell English sausages/Burgers/Chips/pork
pies/Gammon steaks etc as well as English
sauces/cereals/stock cubes/sweets/cakes/crisps most things
that you might miss! But to save money you could bring your
own as they are more expensive than at home bring squeeze
plastic bottles not glass. |
|
Lighting
|
|
There is plenty of lighting in side of the villa and out
side too! We have inserted pool lights as well as other
lighting situated around the pool, with additional lighting
on the terrace above and under the arched terrace below as
well as to the sides of the Villa & BQ area.
The lights located along the drive way can be turned on at
night if you are venturing out.
We also have extra lighting out side in the planted areas of
the gardens these are cane garden lights that can be used
then topped up with special oil so you can enjoy a little
ambiance of an evening whilst dinning with loved ones,
friends or family, (extra oil can be brought from a shop
called LA CASA in the multiplex shopping centre El INGENIO
only 35 min drive approx from the Villa).
There is ample room for everyone in the gardens of the villa
especially if you are coming to stay with family or friends
you can all have some privacy of your own where you can
relax. |

General Information
|
|
Rubbish & hygiene |
|
We do ask, and is very much appreciated if you leave the
property clean and tidy at the end of your stay, with dishes
washed and rubbish cleared (rubbish must never be left for
hygiene reasons) for one it will attract rodents, Cats,
Flies, Ants etc and did you know that rat urine attracts
Snakes! Yes I did say Snakes, I can say honestly because we
have always kept everything clean and tidy and free from
rubbish the most we have had to deal with is ants, flies &
wasps (we have learnt from pass mistakes), I would also
advise that you must cover all food, it’s best not to leave
anything uncovered or left over food & drink outside in the
garden. This is especially important in the summer months.
The Villa will be cleaned after you leave and if found to be
in a dirty state extra cleaning charges may be deducted from
your DS/Deposit, I have never had to do this due to the
respect of guests. |
|
Telephone
Facilities
|
|
Villa Amarilla
doesn't have a telephone. Mobile phone cover at the Villa is
generally good but varies locally, depending on the terrain;
you will find information on telephoning to and from Spain
in our welcome folder. Don’t forget to set your mobile
phones to roaming before entering Spain! |
|
Ancillary services
|
|
If there is an
Emergency during your stay at the Villa, please contact us
the Owners and will do our very best in trying to help. You
will find all our contact numbers in the welcome folder at
the Villa. |
|
|
Privacy
& Noise
|
|
The Villa
enjoys a rural location so any noise will not be a problem,
our Spanish neighbours are really pleasant people but do not
overlook or encroach on your privacy, we always have a few
BQ’s and party nights at the Villa with family or friends
when we are here so please relax and enjoy yourselves. At
fiesta time you may hear some Music in the distance,
celebration fireworks will be let off. This is the norm
throughout Spanish pueblos. But the most you are lightly to
hear are the sweet tinkering bells from the goats being
herded in the distance |
|
Smoking
|
|
Villa Amarilla
is a non-smoking villa, of course you are permitted to smoke
in the grounds of the villa we provide sand ashtrays in
areas around the villa for anyone wishing to smoke this is
to ensure that all of our guests have a comfortable stay in
side of the villa and that all of the rooms are free from
odours. |
|
Extra charges |
|
We do not
charge any extra for Air conditioning, cots, highchairs,
electric, heating, gas (logs for the wood burner provided
during cooler months) these are provided free of charge. The
price you are quoted for the holiday Villa rental is the
total cost. There are no hidden extras. |
|
Security booking deposit |
|
We do ask that
you pay a 30% security deposit at the time of booking and
that the total amount of your Villa rental including the
damage security deposit is paid 6 weeks before your arrival.
(A reminder will be emailed to you 1 week before the due
date) Book now to avoid disappointment, and to take
advantage of the cheap flights offered by discount airlines. |
|
Arrival & Departure
|
|
Guest’s
arrival commences at 4pm and ends at 11am on day of
departure. This is to ensure that we have sufficient time to
prepare the Villa for our next guests. We therefore
recommend that you book your travel to fit in with these
timings. There is, of course, more flexibility with early or
late season bookings or if we do not have a change over you.
This could also include extra days etc. |
|
Season dates
|
|
Our Villa is
available for holiday lets from Jan until December. Early
and late season can be a little chilly, especially of an
evening; we recommend warmer clothing for these dates. We
have heaters in the bedrooms and extra blankets as well as a
log burning fire in the lounge (logs supplied free during
the colder months), the air conditioning is hot and cold so
can provide extra heating if necessary, the climate here is
coldest usually from Jan - early March although can not be
guaranteed. |
